Let’s redefine what it means to be an adult, shall we?

Part 1 of, “Adulthood Redefined”.

According to our current act of adulthood, we are carry on in tradition of our guardians, also known as, those who have guided us through our childhood experiences into our current state of being, where we collectively participate in this societal livelihood.

Based off their example of adulting we think of adulthood as a number to reach and then performance of certain customary acts, like, get a job, get married, have children and all the in between responsibilities that come with those choices. Never not once, are we given a highlighted definition of what our choices, which becomes our actions, actually carry in regards to the load of responsibilities that we are choosing for ourselves.

Therefore we are mindlessly creating our world experiences and fumbling through them, often times, enduring hardships that we may or may not come to resent. The phrase often spoken to describe our, “living by chance” lifestyles, “Having to learn the hard way”, comes to mind. I can’t but help to think this is, indeed, the underlining cause of most of our problems in the world today, creating life mindlessly by chance.

A chaotic world of misery, violence, and death is what we have inherited through this traditional acceptance of life. But what if we could do more, be more, create a new outcome of circumstances for us to experience? Would you not want to be a part of the council responsible for its creation? Part 2 of this presentation we will redefine what it means to be an ADULT.
